Coming from a family of artists, Oguz Sagdic graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial Design degree from Middle East Technical University (METU) and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the Department of Graphic Arts at Hacettepe University. He has completed his PhD in Fine Arts at Gazi University New Media department, Institute of Fine Arts in 2020. In 1987 he presented "Cappadocia" a multi-vision show for the World Heritage Project, to the UNESCO General Assembly in Paris. In 1990 he was awarded the title "Honorary Military Academician" for a multi-vision show for the Land Forces Military Academy’s "Ataturk s Enrollment to Military School" annual ceremony. Between 1993 and 2004, he taught fundamental design and computer-aided presentation courses in the Department of Industrial Design at METU and Department of Interior Architecture at Bilkent University. He participated in the 6th Ankara Film Festival in 1994 with a documentary video about the pollution of Mogan Lake and its effect on surrounding avian wildlife entitled "My Existence Depends on You”, and also with a short video entitled “Femme Fatale”. He participated in the 8th Ankara Film Festival, 1996, with "Every Machine has a Dream", a short video. He received a Special Jury Prize for four of his photographs exhibited at the “The Ones Who Give Life to the Mine” photography contest organized by the Chamber of Mining Engineers of Turkey in celebration of their 50th Anniversary in 2005. He worked for UNICEF & UN as a photographer & design consultant from 2006 to 2007. Having created many graphic designs for a large number of institutions and organizations, Oguz Sagdic has offered courses on photography & design at the Department of Industrial Design at METU and at the Visual Communication & Design Department at TOBB ETU since 2008 and is an official member of the faculty of TOBB since 2011. In 2010, he participated in “Me Romis Sinom” [I Am Human] Photography Exhibition which focused on the working and living conditions of Gypsies in Turkey. He later prepared an audio-visual show on the topic with the same title. In 2016 he was invited to participate in the International Photography Exhibition organized for the UNICEF’s 70th founding anniversary. In 2017 he opened his 29-year-old archive for publication of the book titled “Âbidin Elderoğlu in the Adventure of Turkish Abstraction and Abstract Painting” by Dirimart.
