The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined. A nonzero fraction of events with two longitudinally polarized bosons is measured with an observed significance of 5.3 standard deviations in the region with 100 < p(T)(Z) <= 200 GeV and 1.6 standard deviations in the region with p(T)(Z) > 200 GeV, where p(T)(Z) is the transverse momentum of the Z boson. This Letter also reports the first study of the radiation-amplitude-zero effect. Events with two transversely polarized bosons are analyzed for the Delta Y(l(W)Z) and Delta Y(WZ) distributions defined respectively as the rapidity difference between the lepton from the W boson decay and the Z boson and the rapidity difference between the W boson and the Z boson. Significant suppression of events near zero is observed in both distributions. Unfolded Delta Y(l(W)Z) and Delta Y(WZ) distributions are also measured and compared to theoretical predictions. | Description: | Follega, Francesco Maria/0000-0003-2317-9560; Mitsou, Vasiliki A./0000-0002-1533-8886; Bold, Tomasz/0000-0002-2432-411X; Maj, Klaudia/0000-0003-4819-9226; Salzburger, Andreas/0000-0001-6004-3510; ABREU, Henso/0000-0002-1599-2896; Potti, Harish/0000-0002-0800-9902; Aad, Georges/0000-0002-6665-4934; Tian, Yusong/0000-0001-8739-9250; Canbay, Ali Can/0000-0003-4602-473X; McKee, Shawn/0000-0002-4551-4502; Dyndal, Mateusz/0000-0001-9632-6352; Potepa, Patrycja Anna/0000-0002-1325-7214; Haley, Joseph/0000-0002-6938-7405; Lomas, Josh/0000-0001-7456-494X; de la Torre Perez, Hector/0000-0002-4516-5269; Ahmadov, Faig/0000-0003-3644-540X; /0000-0001-5765-1750; Ramakoti, Ekaterina/0000-0003-4495-4335; Hidaoui, Mourad/0000-0003-2025-6495; Carbone, Antonio/0000-0002-4117-3800; Konstantinidis, Nikolaos/0000-0002-4140-6360; D'Auria, Saverio/0000-0003-3393-6318; Gwilliam, Carl/0000-0002-9401-5304; Gonnella, Francesco/0000-0003-0885-1654; Rompotis, Nikolaos/0000-0003-2577-1875; Soto, Orlando/0000-0002-8613-0310; Teixeira-Dias, Pedro/0000-0001-9977-3836; Stanislaus, Beojan/0000-0001-9007-7658; Aboulhorma, Asmaa/0000-0002-9987-2292; Abbott, Braden/0000-0002-5888-2734; Mlinarevic, Marin/0000-0003-3587-646X; Staszewski, Rafal/0000-0001-7708-9259; Etzion, Erez/0000-0001-6871-7794; Mindur, Bartosz/0000-0002-5511-2611; Ventura, Andrea/0000-0002-3368-3413; Balek, Petr/0000-0002-0942-1966; Fiorini, Luca/0000-0002-5070-2735; Kretzschmar, Jan/0000-0002-8515-1355; Herde, Hannah/0000-0001-8926-6734; Hillier, Stephen/0000-0002-7599-6469; Abramowicz, Halina/0000-0001-5329-6640; Mazzeo, Elena/0000-0002-8406-0195; KHWAIRA, Yahya/0000-0001-8538-1647; Carmignani, Joseph (Joe)/0000-0002-1705-1061; Smirnova, Oxana/0000-0003-2517-531X; Moszkowicz, Piotr/0000-0001-5269-6191; Petersen, Troels/0000-0003-0221-3037; Sala, Alessandro/0000-0003-0824-7326; El Sawy, Mai/0000-0002-3012-9986; Ragusa, Francesco/0000-0002-4064-0489; Oh, Alexander/0000-0001-9025-0422; Kupco, Alexander/0000-0003-3692-1410; Dingfelder, Jochen/0000-0001-5767-2121; Grabowska-Bold, Iwona/0000-0001-9159-1210; Gavrilyuk, Alexander/0000-0003-3837-6567; Camplani, Alessandra/0000-0002-6386-9788; Calafiura, Paolo/0000-0002-1692-1678; Pintucci, Laura/0000-0001-9842-9830; Saoucha, Kamal/0000-0001-9150-640X; Dabrowski, Wladyslaw/0000-0001-9061-9568; Abicht, Nils Julius/0000-0001-5763-2760; Butterworth, Jonathan/0000-0002-5905-5394; Charlton, David/0000-0003-0211-2041 | URI: | https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.133.101802 | ISSN: | 0031-9007 1079-7114 |
