dc.description.abstract | Nowadays, DC (direct current) motors are widely used in industry. Air conditioners, computer drives, electric toothbrushes, portable vacuum cleaners, drilling machines, trimmers, food mixers are some areas where DC motors are used. Moreover, large DC motors are used in propulsion of electric vehicles, elevators, hoists, and in drives for steel rolling mills. Thus, controller design for DC motors is of great importance due to their widespread use. In this research, modeling of a DC motor and position angle controller design is explained. Optimum PID (proportional-integral-derivative) controller coefficients are obtained tuning the PID controller and thus a controller design with fast rise time, low overshoot, short settling time and no steady state error is achieved. The DC motor is modeled in both MATLAB and Simulink, simulations are realized with both of them and the same successful results are obtained. © 2024 IEEE. | en_US |
