Abstract: Since global warming and hydrocarbon fuel problems are increasing significantly. Researchers have tried to discover alternative energy sources, to utilize available energy sources, and to reduce greenhouse gases emissions. Thailand is one of many countries concerning these topics as main issues. This work presents experimental information which is obtained from a landfill, a Sakon Nakhon municipality landfill chosen as a study case. Since methane in landfill biogas is a combustible gas, measuring methane concentration is necessary. The measured methane information was also used to estimate carbon dioxide amount released to environment. Because methane can be used as fuel in several applications, information about waste-to-energy technologies by methane was expres d. In addition, methane can provide energy from methane reforming reactions, as an option, the fuel cell anod s with catalyst, were compare to give a clear point of views in methane utilizations. © 2013 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
