Abstract: The ?-Re?t correlation-based turbulence model is numerically studied using the well-known flat plate transition experiment test cases for better understanding the effect of correlation formulas in the model. Empirical correlations used in the present model are developed by numerical experimentation and the skin-friction coefficients are compared with the ERCOFTAC T3A flat plate test case for the bypass transition regime and the classical Schubauer&Klebanoff for the natural transition regime. It was found that the new correlation values between the transition momentum thickness Reynolds number and the parameter that controls the extent of the transition region displayed good agreement with the experimental data for the T3A and Schubauer&Klebanoff test cases.
