Abstract: This paper intends to anintegrated view of the advances ill automated diagnostic systems. The paper includes illustrative and detailed information about automated diagnostic systems and feature extraction/selection from biomedical signals. In this respect, the paper satisfies the automated diagnostic systems, which includes the spectral analysis techniques, feature extraction and/or selection methods and decision support systems. The paper includes spectral analysis techniques used in the feature extraction stage, experiments for implementation of automated diagnostic systems and measuring performance of automated diagnostic systems. The objective of the paper is to be a guide for the readers, who want to develop an automated diagnostic systems for detection of any diseases.
