Abstract: Mammography and ultrasound are commonly used techniques for detection and follow-up of breast cancer. Microwave induced thermoacoustic imaging is a new non-ionizing imaging modality that can facilitate early detection and follow-up of cancer. Here we present development of an experimental microwave induced thermoacoustic imaging system along with preliminary test results.
