Faculty of Science and Literature
The Faculty of Science and Literature aims to raise qualified human power in the academic world and in fields of data gathering, analysis and processing, psychology, and culture, literature, human and. The education and research priorities of the departments within the body of the Faculty has been determined in this direction and necessary modern foundation and qualified academic staff have been put together. Our faculty started off its education and research journey in 2004.
For our students to recognize and use basic up-to-date information technologies, and to be proficient in a foreign language knowledge which would carry them to advantageous positions in their professional life, they are encouraged to learn another foreign language in addition to English. For this purpose, in addition to their professional English courses, our students can take another foreign language courses such as German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Arabian and Russian as elective ones. Apart from these, our students have opportunity to attend any course they wish to take from other departments and faculties as their elective courses.
In all departments we adopt the Cooperative Education Model. In Turkey, implemented only in TOBB ETÜ, cooperative education is a unique approach to higher education that enables students to gain one-year work experience prior to their graduation grounded on university-business world cooperation. The Cooperative Education Model is a structured educational strategy reinforcing professional development at actual businesses and involvement in an area associated with the future professions of the students, all the while they receive education. At TOBB ETÜ, there are 8 education semesters and 3 cooperative education semesters, and each academic year is divided into 3 semesters: Fall, Spring and Summer. In cooperative education, the students get to develop themselves, the school, and the enterprise they are associated to, as an instrument of cooperation between the university and the industry.


Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi
Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi, veri derleme, çözümleme ve işleme ile kültür, dil, edebiyat, insan ve toplum alanlarında nitelikli işgücü yetiştirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Fakültemiz bünyesindeki bölümlerin öğretim ve araştırma öncelikleri bu doğrultuda belirlenerek, gereksinim duyulan modern altyapı ve nitelikli akademisyen kadrosu oluşturulmuştur. Fakültemiz 2004 yılından itibaren eğitim ve araştırma faaliyetlerine başlamıştır.
Öğrencilerimizin çağa uygun olarak temel bilgi teknolojilerini tanıyıp kullanmaları, iş hayatında onları avantajlı duruma getirebilecek yabancı dil bilgisiyle donanmaları için İngilizce dışında bir başka dil daha öğrenmeleri teşvik edilmektedir. Bu amaçla, öğrencilerimiz mesleki İngilizce derslerine ek olarak, Almanca, İtalyanca, Portekizce, Çince, Arapça ve Rusça gibi ikinci yabancı dil derslerini alabilmektedir. Bunların dışında, öğrencilerimizin başka bölümlerden ve fakültelerden istedikleri seçimlik dersleri almalarına fırsat tanınmaktadır.
Tüm bölümlerimizde Ortak Eğitim Modelini benimsiyoruz. Ortak Eğitim, Türkiye’de sadece TOBB ETÜ’de uygulanan, öğrencilerin iş deneyimi ile mezun olmaları için üniversite-iş dünyası iş birliği esasına dayanan bir eğitim anlayışıdır. Ortak Eğitim Modeli, öğrencilerin öğrenimleri sırasında işyerlerinde, meslekleriyle ilgili bir alanda çalışmaları ile mesleki gelişmelerini pekiştiren programlı bir eğitim stratejisidir. TOBB ETÜ’de 8 akademik eğitim dönemi ve 3 ortak eğitim dönemi bulunur ve her bir akademik yıl Güz, Bahar ve Yaz olmak üzere 3 döneme bölünür. Ortak eğitim sisteminde öğrenci, üniversite-sanayi iş birliğinin bir aracı olarak hem kendini, hem üniversitesini hem de çalıştığı kurumu geliştirir.
