In this research, it is analyzed whether defective democracies that are unable to protect property rights tend to have more aggressive foreign policies than democracies that protect property rights effectively. Despite convergence of the democratic institutions between liberal and illiberal democracies, what kind of differences are there in their approach to property rights. To understand and analyze this phenomenon, democratic institutions, business freedom, trade freedom, investment freedom were used as control variables. Government's success to protect property rights and avoid corruption were used as independent variables. Military interstate disputes were dependent variable. Democracies that protect property rights effectively and have minimal corruption problem are more inclined to pursue peaceful foreign policies while defective democracies that protect property rights poorly and have corruption problem are more inclined to pursue aggressive foreign policies.en_US
