Biography

Oktay Duman is a full professor of mathematics at TOBB University of Economics and Technology (TOBB ETU). He received his Ph.D. degree from Ankara University, Department of Mathematics in 2003. He has been working as a faculty member in Department of Mathematics at TOBB ETU since 2004. Dr. Duman conducts research in the fields of approximation theory and summability theory. He has published more than 100 scientific articles and 4 international books. He received the research reward dedicated to "Professor Masatoschi Gündüz Ikeda" organized by the Mathematics Foundation - METU in 2004 for his original contributions to the summability theory. He was elected as an associate member to the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) in 2012. In 2015, he worked as a visiting scientist in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Central Florida in the USA with a TUBITAK grant. In 2019, he won the "best organizer" award at an international conference held in Brussels - Belgium. He was elected to TÜBA as a principal member in 2020. He has been as chairman of the organizing committee, member of the scientific committee, and invited speaker at many national and international conferences. So far, Dr. Duman has supervised a total of 12 graduate students, four of whom are doctoral students. Dr. Duman is the dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the head of the Department of Mathematics of TOBB ETU.
