She was born in Ankara in 1983. She graduated from Ankara Atatürk Anatolian High School in 2000 and Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2006. She received her specialty training at Hacettepe University Neurology Department. After working as a neurologist in various public hospitals, she turned to the field of basic neuroscience and started working at Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry in Hacettepe University. In 2018, she had been at Aarhus University (Denmark) Center of Functionally Integrative Neuroscience laboratories as a visiting researcher for 6 months. Her professional interests include pain, dementia, higher cortical functions, ischemia-reperfusion injury, cortical spreading depression and animal models of neurological diseases. Dr. Taskiran-Sag completed her PhD studies on cerebral microcirculation and oxidative stress in 2019. She has been working as a faculty member at TOBB ETU Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology since September 2020. She teaches courses in neurology and neuroscience.
